I was in puzzled when I try to create a project made up a bunch of items when it came to me that I had a bunch of soda cans lying around with there pop tabs still intact. The tabs reminded me of a snake, so I tied together several hundred tabs with twist ties to create a cobra. The snake require planning to create a design that is functional and resembles a snake. My favorite detail was using a red twist tie for the tongue

Ever thought of creating your own toys as a kid? It usually doesn’t end well with a dozen dry markers and over stapled ball of paper. I created a gang mold of a toy solider and a McDonald’s Silver Surfer figure to create a small battle field.

I have always wondered how the great sculptors of the Renaissance such as Leonardo created there amazing realistic portraits. I was surprised that a lot of these huge sculptures are hollow on the inside. It may not seem like it at first, but this head study is modeled after my face (sans glasses). The process was amazing to see a huge slab of clay transform into a recognizable form.
Knight and horse
Medium: clay

Knights are always seen as valiant but I wanted to a spin on it by making it the opposite: silly. The knight is the lid while the horse is the rest of the jar. The horse is abstract with its long face and pointed triangular ears. The knight has its standard visor but has swollen lips to contrast with said visor

My mom collects Santa’s and for a Christmas gift for 2020, I would make a fabric Santa. Originally it was going to be a wizard but after several revision it became Santa Claus. The face is obscured by his red coat while the lining is adorned in gold. He carries a tree with him to represent wilderness Santa ( a popular sub-set of Santa figures that are based on giving people arbor related gifts).
The singing musician
Medium: clay
Size: 3” x 3”

The painting that I chose to bass off of to create this sculpture was The Three Musicians by Pablo Picasso. The painting was really amusing to me and I wanted to capture one of the professionals: the singer who is sitting at the East side. I created an interpretation of what the singer would look like if he was brought into our world .
